On Thursday, 6th of June, the Block Ledger team arrived in Sydney, Australia to attend the B2B Rocks Startup Competition. Entering in the Scale-Up Projects category, Block Ledger was shortlisted to pitch in front of 350 attendants at the main B2B Rocks event.
B2B Rocks showcases organisations throughout the country, with 34 projects scouted out of 75 submissions to the competition. However, a further 14 candidacies had been eliminated after video interviews, and only 10 projects (5 classified as early-stage start-ups and other 5 categorised as scaleups) left to be invited to pitch at B2B Rocks.
On Block Ledger’s behalf, Ivan Cheah (CEO), Faisal Mehmood (CTO) and Ray Wang (COO) had attended the event.
Ray Wang lead the presentation, eventuating in a fourth-place finish after 3 minutes of intensive pitching against other competitive projects. Of the final 5 projects, many were established and already generating significant turnovers. The remainder were also had great business ideas with proven concepts, and legitimate potential commercial market.
The event went fantastically and gave Block Ledger and LUCA+ good exposure to public and private interests. B2B Rocks is known to connect investors and future business partners with exciting projects, creating potential and opportunity for all involved.
